October 23, 2006 -- The villains are coming! We're now officially more than half-way through The Professionals: Pre-Registering for ADVENTURE! More super-powered silliness is on the way!

I'm sorry to say the deadline for the contest has passed. The entries are in and a panel of impartial judges will be selected to assist me in choosing the funniest, most creative hero to be our winner! September 9, 2006 -- Today we return to the regular schedule of one strip a week, each Saturday morning. I hope you all don't mind that for a bit while I prepare my next project...
Those of you who are on my mailing list already know what's coming; if you're not on the list, you should be! All the cool kids are doing it... It's a great way for me to keep in touch with all of you and for all of YOU to let me know what you think of the comics. September 1, 2006 -- This is it... my first Epic story arc concludes today! If you want the full effect, start back at the beginning and read it all the way through!
My next new comic will be another single-page adventure, and it will be online NEXT Saturday, September 9. Thanks for staying with me through this experiment in serialized storytelling; I hope to have more news on my next Epic project soon...

August 28, 2006 -- Fifteen Parts and five weeks down... three parts and THIS week to go!
This is it! The final week of my first EPIC story arc, "The Fortune-Cookie Fiasco!" This Friday everything wraps up, and then we'll be back on the regular "Once a Week, Every Saturday" schedule. There will NOT be a strip this Saturday, September 2 (sorry!) but there will be a fresh new episode the week after.
Some of you have commented that you enjoyed the "thrice-weekly" updates, and while I can't do them regularly, I do plan on doing them again. Again, and as often as possible. August 21, 2006 -- Twelve Parts and four weeks down... six parts and two weeks to go!
One of the things I'm happiest about with this story is all the new characters I've been able to introduce, including a new one this week! It's difficult to introduce a character properly in a single-page strip (not impossible, but difficult); having a few more pages to work with sure is nice!

August 14, 2006 -- Nine Parts and three weeks down... nine parts and three weeks to go! We've made it half-way!
As you all know from the Brand X Update e-mails (Not getting the updates? Send an e-mail with the subject Mailing List to commanderx@brandxcreations.com), I have a big project I keep hyping with Adam Arthur coming soon. I should make sure this is clear to everyone, though: This is HIS creation, and you're all going to love it. He's been kind enough to let me be a small, consulting part of it, but that hasn't made me biased: There will be action, there will be excitement, there will be small mammals with large firearms. This is destined for GREATNESS. (You have probably also noticed that I can NEVER get the subject lines right on those... this week the date was wrong. I need to stop sending them out after midnight...)
Also, as I mentioned in the Update, there is MORE to look forward to here at Brand X, but I won't say anything else about that just yet. Keep watching your e-mail...
August 7, 2006 -- Six Parts and two weeks down... twelve parts and four weeks to go! Thank you all for staying with me on this. I'm sorry if there was any confusion about the Saturday strips: As I'm sure you've all noticed, they've been suspended until the current story-arc is finished. Three strips a week is crazy enough!
Most of you have been reading the Brand X Updates you get in your e-mail (Not getting the updates? Send an e-mail with the subject Mailing List to commanderx@brandxcreations.com). For those of you who may have missed it, I would like to tell you all how jazzed I am about my big, upcoming project with artist/animator/web-designer/layer-down of funky beats extraordinaire, Mr. Adam Arthur. I don't want to get into too much detail about it now, but you'll be hearing more about it soon. I can say this much: It involves spaceships, explosions, and HAM radio. So you know it will be RIGHTEOUSLY AWESOME.

July 20, 2006 -- It begins... next week! My first EPIC storyline starts Monday, July 24, and I'm PSYCHED. I'll be updating the website three times a week (Monday-Wednesday-Friday) and I hope you'll all keep checking back in to see how the story unfolds. I'm at Comic-Con right now down in San Diego, but when I get back... when I get back, faces will be rocked.

July 8, 2006 -- Thank you all again for "listening" last week while I spoke about my friend Jim. I'm keeping the page with my thoughts and tribute to him online here.
Starting this week, I'm beginning my build-up to the big story-arc I have planned for the summer: The Fortune-Cookie Fiasco! Starting July 24 (after I return from Comic-Con) I'll be temporarily kicking my update schedule up to THREE times a week! You'll be able to read a new chapter in this story every Monday, Wednesday,and Friday! I think you'll all enjoy it, and I hope you'll spread the word to any other would-be Brand X fans out there.
June 10, 2006 -- I have ARRIVED! Here it is, the day I post my comic EVERY WEEK, and I'm scrambling to come up with a lame excuse as to why it's more than eight hours late! So far, all I can think of is that my brain was completely burned out by last night's DVD episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. It was one of those wacky Star Trek time-travel episodes that NEVER make any sense, but they're still fun... in trying to understand the intricacies of the temporal events portrayed in the episode, I completely forgot to post the strip... yeah, I got nothin'. Well, it looks like I'm finally a REAL web-cartoonist. Sorry!
May 20, 2006 -- For those of you out there who are interested, Commander X has taken the plunge into internet blogging maddness and now has his own official MySpace Profile. Until we can incorporate a message board or something similar into our main site here, please feel free to add the Commander as a MySpace friend and share your thoughts and feelings there! He'll also be using the profile as an additional way of spreading news about upcoming strips and events.
May 5, 2006 -- Tomorrow Last week is was Free Comic Book Day! I was inspired to create a comic plugging the event and showing off some of my favorite comics (sorry it's late; didn't think of it until this week). Hopefully some of you will be able to check out this great yearly event! Find out more information about the event at the official Free Comic Book Day website.
April 14, 2006 -- Kristofer Straub publishes a fantastic daily comic strip at Starslip Crisis, and I've been a fan for quite some time now. He was kind enough to post some fan art I created of one of his characters, space pirate Cutter Edgewise... check it out on his Extras Page!
